Students at CCHS have yet again excelled in their efforts to support local charities at Harvest time. Students from all year groups over a period of one week collected a range of items to give to Cannock District Foodbank, located in Pye Green Road. To make the week even more special the school held a special Harvest Assembly for students in Years 7 and 8, led by Rev P Hart from St Luke's Church, Cannock. During the Harvest Assembly the produce was blessed by the Rev Hart before being distributed to those most in need.
Assistant Headteacher, Richard Howes stated, 'This was the first time in the school's history we had ever had a Harvest Service, but it certainly will not be the last. Our school is based upon a range of core traditional values and our students demonstrate these daily; this is one of the many ways in which as a school we work with our local community.'
Parents who attended were treated to a drama performance and special hymns sung by all of Year 7 and 8. Mr Howes stated, 'There is great emphasis placed upon academic success in our school but at the same time the school remains committed to developing well rounded caring young people who will be the adults of the future.'
