Science Specialist Status
Aims of the Specialist School Scheme:
- To raise standards of achievement in specialist subjects and whole school
- To raise standards of teaching and learning in specialist subjects and whole school
- To extend vocational choices and enrichment through links with higher education, sponsors and business
- To be active partners in a learning society with their local families of schools and their communities, offering opportunities for enriching and extending learning experiences
- To develop the capacity to provide high quality learning opportunities and outcomes for the wider community
Cannock Chase High School Science Specialist Status:
- Cannock Chase High School became a Specialist Science School in 2004
- We currently focus on Science, Maths and ICT
- The status enhances school budget significantly
- The status has been an agent for significant improvement at Cannock Chase High School
- We have seven community partners six primary schools and 1 secondary school: St Luke's, Longford, Bridgtown, Chadsmoor, Moorhill, Huntingtion and Norton Canes Community School
- We will be planning for re-designation as a Science Specialist School during 2008
